The “Silvania” route has a total length of 135km and includes the line 412 Sărmășag – Zalău Nord – Jibou – Var h, (50 km), a non-electrified section that was remastered, thus improving the scenery using strictly elements from the Romanian Asset Pack , and line 301 Zalău Nord – Cluj-Napoca, (85 km) electrified section, which includes a sector of the main line 300 from Nadășel to Cluj-Napoca, presented in a modernized and electrified version. Line 301 does not exist in reality, it was designed and built using 3D DEM SRTM30 terrain, and satellite imagery to make the most plausible route between the two main cities, the goal being a journey time of less than the current road journey time of 80-90 minutes, and a good flow of freight trains. Benefiting from speeds ranging 70 to 140 km/h, we can thus obtain journey times of 52 minutes for a non-stop train and 88 minutes for a regional omnibus train. This new section includes numerous works of art, those standing out being the 10 tunnels with a cumulative length of 16.6 km, the longest being the “Meseș Tunnel” of 5995m in length and the second being the “Sâncraiu Almașului Tunnel” with a length of 3565m. We also find numerous slopes that can reach 22.5 per thousand for short portions and 20 per thousand for longer portions. Line 301 “Zalău Nord – Cluj-Napoca” represents our ambition to build a new railway line, in the virtual environment of Dovetail Games Train Simulator, a novelty in the Romanian community of railway simulation.
